Foundation

Los Altos United Methodist Church Foundation

Mission

To aid, support, develop, and promote the religious and charitable objectives and educational activities and programs of the Los Altos United Methodist Church of Long Beach, California.

Financial Gifts

Church members continue to donate cash, securities, and real property or leave them in wills, and the Board of Directors, elected by church members, invests the original donations in a conservative portfolio of investments.
In 1999, the Board of Directors moved the management of assets totaling $143,425 from a commercial brokerage firm to the California-Pacific United Methodist Foundation, Inc.. Their mission is to provide local churches and organizations with a variety of investment instruments that will offer optimum management, protection, and enhancement of their financial assets.

Memorial Tree Opportunity

A brass Memorial Tree sculpture, attached to the church's outside sanctuary wall, offers a way for any interested person to make a donation to the Memorial Tree Endowment Fund while the donor memorializes a loved one.
For an order form, pick one up near the Memorial Tree or request one by telephoning LAUMC.

Financial Gifts at Work

Since it's formation in 1988, the LAUMC Foundation Board of Directors distributes annually, the earned interest on the various Funds.
When more Memorial Tree leaves are subscribed, other church programs and building maintenance needs will benefit from earned interest monies.
