mornings at 10:00 a.m.
Senior High students
(9-12 graders) meet in "The Pit" - the Senior High youth room,
beneath the lounge, down the steps off the main courtyard.

(6-8 graders) meet in "The Summit" - the Middle School youth
room which is on the second floor of our education building.
The door up to the Summit is on the Southwest corner of the

Sanctuary. They perform in worship and elsewhere as

Annual
Opportunities
Confirmation
Beginning in January,
seventh graders, and those not yet confirmed, are invited to
join the confirmation class. After study sessions,
participate in your confirmation into the church and become a
member of Los Altos United Methodist Church.
Youth
Sunday
Join
with other youth once a year to provide the music, scripture
readings, and sermons for both Sunday morning worship services.
Sierra
Service Project
During
the summer, participate in a service-to-others trip to serve the
Native American peoples in the Round Valley reservation.
In 2006, we will take 22 youth on a mission project to work on
homes there.
Feed
the Homeless Project
Serve
a meal to the homeless. Once a year, the Los Altos United
Methodist youth take a turn working in the kitchen at St. Luke’s
Episcopal Church at 7th Street and Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach
and dishing up meals for the homeless.
Knott
Scary Farm Trip
Have
fun by traveling with your friends on this annual October trip to
Knott’s Berry Farm.
Halloween
Carnival
We attend the Knott's
Berry Farm Halloween Haunt each year as a youth group. We
usually attend the first Friday and Saturday in October.
CROP
Walk
Be
one of the walkers in the October CROP Walk. Get your sponsors to
pledge 25 cents or more for every mile you walk-for-hunger and see
how much you can raise for the local hunger-relief agencies.
Overnighter
Plan
to spend a lock-in overnighter in the Fall. Never mind the
sleeping part.
Alternative
Christmas
Staff
the Heifer Project International display with coloring activities
for kids.
Advent
and Christmas
Make
a wreath for the Advent season, join the group on its Christmas
progressive dinner party, and if you’re in the Youth Choir, plan
to perform in December in a worship service. Share your voice by
caroling to shut-ins at their homes. Join us at the All-Church
Potluck. During the holidays, hang
out with the Youth Fellowship at a movie or a game night.
Ski
Trip
When
the snow falls in the San Bernardino Mountains, it’s time once
again for a ski trip to Big Bear.
Fundraisers
To
support the youth activities, participate in our fundraisers.
Youth sponsor the Easter Pancake Breakfast, the Youth Auction, and
sell Christmas greens, such as wreaths and garlands.
